In search of licensed professionals who can help you enhance your property’s landscape? Wolf’s Botanical has you covered in Lacombe, Ponoka, and throughout Central Alberta. Whether you’re planning a full-yard transformation, refining a new outdoor space, or simply trying to make smart, lasting improvements one project at a time, the right guidance at the beginning can save you significant time, money, and frustration. Our goal is to help you build a landscape that not only looks great, but also performs well in our climate—season after season.

Wolf’s Botanical employs two accredited landscape horticulturists who are available to visit your site and provide professional consultation for do-it-yourself projects. This service is designed specifically for property owners who want to do the work themselves but would like expert input to ensure they’re making the best decisions from the start. With the right plan and the right products, a DIY landscape can be both rewarding and highly successful.

Our consultation service helps you avoid common pitfalls such as improper grading, poor drainage planning, mismatched plant selection, or costly material choices that don’t suit the site.

Each of our professionals brings more than 18 years of hands-on experience in landscape design and construction. That depth of knowledge means you’re not just receiving ideas—you’re receiving practical, field-tested recommendations tailored to your space. During a site visit, we take the time to understand your goals, assess existing conditions, and identify the opportunities and constraints that will shape your project. This includes reviewing sun and shade patterns, soil and drainage conditions, wind exposure, privacy needs, and how you intend to use the area day-to-day.

A major part of our consultation is helping you select plant material that will thrive in Central Alberta. We recommend suitable trees, shrubs, and perennials based on your preferences and the demands of the site, considering factors such as hardiness, mature size, maintenance requirements, spacing, and long-term growth habits. The result is a more cohesive planting plan that supports healthy establishment, reduces long-term maintenance headaches, and strengthens the overall look and function of your landscape.

Beyond plant selection, our team provides expert guidance on hardscape elements that often define the structure of an outdoor space. If your project includes retaining walls, we can advise on layout, height considerations, base preparation, and product options to support durability and stability. If you’re planning stone paving walkways or patios, we help you think through traffic flow, leveling, edge restraint, material selection, and finish options—so the final product feels solid, safe, and visually intentional. We also offer support on overall product selection, helping you choose the right materials for your budget, style, and site requirements, while keeping installation best practices in mind.

For those who want a clear plan before they start digging, Wolf’s Botanical offers a 1.5-hour consultation session with one of our certified landscape horticulturists. It’s a focused, professional visit designed to give you clarity, confidence, and a roadmap you can actually follow. For further details, pricing, or to schedule your consultation, please contact us—our team would be happy to help you take the next step toward the landscape you’ve been envisioning.
